Leri Melissa Thomas, 72, of Wolftown, died August 23, 2023, after a brief, but unyielding, confrontation with cancer. She never backed down from an adversary, and cancer was no exception.
Leri was extraordinarily well educated, having obtained both a master’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Education and Human Development in social foundations of education/education psychology, with concentrations in history and research. She wrote her dissertation about institutional bullying and spent most of her adult life fighting bullies who threatened others’ rights, such as the right to vote, the right to property, and the right to protection as a victim...

Theodore "Kirby" Tjossem
1949-01-17 2013-02-15Theodore Kirby Tjossem of Lewes died Feb. 15, 2013, of cancer. He is survived by his sisters Linda Sullivan, Stacy Tjossem and Jill Tjossem. Kirby moved to Lewes after retiring from the Marriott Corp. and Big Boy Restaurants. He was born in Iowa, and was the only son of Dr. Theodore D. Tjossem and Guinevere J. Tjossem. He is now at rest in the Prairie View Cemetery in Paul-lina, Iowa.

Robert Elliot Weinberg, '72 (anthropology), of Pacifica, California, April 11, at 59, of cancer. He was a member of LSJUMB. After earning a master's degree from UC-Berkeley, he worked as an environmental technology specialist for Crissy Field Community Environmental Center and most recently as an information systems analyst at UC-Berkeley. He loved sailing and windsurfing and was an instructor at Cal-Windsurfing. Survivors: his wife, Linda; his parents, Carlena and Elliot; and a sister.

Bill White
1950-03-17 2015-05-12Our beloved twin brother and uncle, Bill White, died peacefully on May 12, 2015 with his brother and friends at hand. Bill was born in Washington, D. C. on March 17, 1950 to James Gordon White and Susan Turner White. The family moved to Arlington County, Virginia in 1952, where Bill consistently excelled in school graduating from Yorktown High School in 1968. He was captain of cross country and tennis teams his senior year, and also won the Knights of Columbus high school tennis sportsmanship award in his senior year.
