YHS '68 Classmates -- Please click on the"Add Your Profile," box below, and write a little information about yourself.  Everyone loves photos!  Adding "then" and "now"photos to your profile will help classmates to recognize you at the big event.

If you need help adding your profile, click on the "Contact Us" tab and we will assist you.

To add your Classmate Profile, you will create a Username and Password, so none of your friends has unauthorized fun with your profile -- but don't forget to hit "the submit" button to save your information!  Also, you can edit your information (tap on the "edit your profile" button.)

This website does not share your personal information including your home & email addresses, or phone numbers, but it does permit other classmates to contact you privately, without revealing your email address on the website.

This website operates in a distinctly different way from Facebook. So don’t expect to be bombarded with emails every time there is a change. The Reunion Committee, however, will occasionally send updates and news to you about the reunion events as they evolve. But please check back on your own to catch up with new classmate profiles, photos and other news.

Occupation: Retired Accountant

Nancy Boykin (Boykin)

Marital status: Married
Children: 1
Occupation: Actress
Comment: Hello, All!  I'm so grateful to say that my years since High School have good ones and filled with adventures.  My career in the theater has taken me to places around the country --living for some time in New York City, Los Angeles and now Philadelphia.  I've had the opportunity to do many, many plays over the years and I am thankful for the many friends I have made.  Although acting remains my primary focus, for years I also taught and have just retired from teaching at Temple University.  My husband, Dan, is an actor and director and my son, James, is currently in graduate school getting an MFA in Acting.  We live in an older stone house in Elkins Park, just outside of Philadelphia.  We have grown to love the city for it's no-nonsense attitude -- not to mention some very good restaurants.  In our spare time we enjoy travelling and have the good fortune to spend some time teaching in London.  Most summer we go into the wilderness for a week or so of backpacking/camping/hiking/fishing in Wyoming.  I hope that I will be able to make it to the reunion.  It would be a treat to see everyone and catch up.

Linda Brekke (Brekke)

Marital status: Divorced
Children: 3
Occupation: Contoller
Comment: I am currently ( for 15 years) the Controller at Paley Rothman, a law firm in Bethesda. I am divorced and have three children who, in total, have 6 children. I've lived in the same old (built in 1898) house in Falls Church for 40 years (I sound like my mother!) Speaking of my mother, she is 96, happy and healthy living in Mclean. My brother, Tron, and sister, Gervais, still live in the area, too. Life is good and life is busy!!

I am happy to still enjoy and love friends from our Yorktown days and cannot wait to reunite with more!

Joan Brumbach (Ungemach)

Marital status: Married
Occupation: designer
Comment: Majored in Theatre Arts at U of Richmond. Worked summers for Interior Dept, thanks to Ann Krell’s Dad.  Married Fred Brumbach at start of Senior year.  Did some acting in Richmond but ended up as costumer.  Started Backstage with Fred and two partners. Provided Tech services for local theatres but moved into doing Political Conventions, Corporate Events, Charity Balls, Music Festivals…and I developed a Costume Rental Department.  Bought a house in Manteo NC, see lacasadelwacho.com; realized we’d have to sell our Richmond home within 2 years.  Moved to OBX where Fred became sound engineer for NC Symphony and I designed costumes for Elizabeth R and sometimes built for Lost Colony—yes the queen still reigns in Manteo!

Suzie Buck (Cooper)

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: housewife/volunteer
Comment: Yes, I live in Arlington and walk Yorktown's track fairly often, a slave to my FitBit.  Boy has the place changed from our day!  Working on this Reunion has already fostered new friendships and brought out great memories.  I have some old photos I can't wait to post but probably should get permission first from those who are in them.  I would encourage everyone to register and begin connecting - it's a lot of fun.

I've been married to Bill Buck (nickname - Joe Buck) for close to 45 yrs. now.  We raised 2 sons, one lives in Arlington with our 3 terrific grandchildren.  Sadly our younger son lost his battle with depression and addiction in 2012 and we will always miss him terribly.

I taught high school English for a few years after college then became a full-time mom and volunteer.  My most recent endeavor was nine years on the Board of Phoenix House, an addiction treatment center nationwide and here in Arlington, but I've just stepped down to make room for new blood.  I love to make quilts, work out and attend deep water aerobics classes.  Take a look at the Photo Album Tab to see pics from our first gathering of classmates in my backyard - we really needed name tags!!  Since then we've had another party/meeting here and two more elsewhere.  They were like mini-reunions! It doesn't take long to reconnect and people are so enthused.

I hope to connect with you all soon.  Its like Christmas for us when we find another person who's added their Profile and there's been lots of fun chatter on our Facebook page too.  Join the fun!

Glen Bumgardner

Marital status: Married
Occupation: Retired (twice)
Comment: Alive and well in the Rocky Mountain West.  Been here longer than any other place.  3 1/2 hour drive to Glacier National Park.  5 hour drive to Yellowstone.

Ellen Burch

Marital status: Single
Occupation: recently retired
Comment: It's been so much fun to catch up with everyone.  Guess it's my turn.  After graduating from the University of North Carolina, I ended up in the communication research field for public television/radio and then cable (The Travel Channel).  This career took me from DC to Seattle to Dallas and back to DC.  Retirement came a little earlier than I expected, but so far, so good.

HelenRuth Burch

Marital status: Single
Occupation: retired Girl Scout Program Director

Joannie Burroughs (Burroughs)

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Retired banker, now Non-Profit Pres.

Suzanne (Suzy) Bushfield (Young)

Marital status: Married
Children: 4
Occupation: Retired
Comment: I am so glad we are having a reunion! Looking forward to reconnecting. I left Arlington and headed to Dallas, TX to attend SMU. A year later I was married, then finished my degree in music. I  promptly went to work as a social worker--a career that took me from public welfare work to clinical social work and on to higher education. Finished MSW in Mississippi, had 2 great kids, divorced after 23 years, finished my PhD in Idaho, remarried, gaining two more great kids. Taught social work in North Dakota and Arizona State; retired from academe and finished my career back in DC area working for AAHRPP (human research protection). I continue to do some research, consulting on accreditation issues, and splitting my time between AZ and SD,  enjoying 7 grandkids and a great dog. My husband Bob and I enjoy traveling. I attended his 50th a few years ago-- class of '65 from a small town where the class had 65 members! I can't wait to bring him to ours. Special thanks for this site so I can brush up on who's who!!
