Roberta "Bobbie" Veazey (Bebb)

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Retired Professor of Music
Comment: Following graduation I went to the University of N. C. At Greensboro, graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Voice and a Bachelor of Music Education.  That summer I married my husband Scott and moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he was finishing his Bachelor of Architecture. We recently celebrated our 45th anniversary. Upon his graduation from  the University of Kentucky, we moved to Champaign-Urbana, Illinois to pursue our respective master degrees, I in Music Performance and he in Architecture at the University of Illinois.  We graduated in 1976 and moved to Evansville, IN where I began my career teaching Voice at the University of Evansville and performing and Scott joined the firm that he would eventually own.  We lived there until retirement at which time we moved to Louisville, KY which we love.

We've been blessed with a son and daughter and three grandchildren. Our son is a lawyer and musician (he plays in the Philharmonic and conducts the youth orchestra) and our daughter is a music therapist and cellist in Wisconsin. Both are happily married. Life is good and retirement is the BEST!!!

Comment: Thanks to all you reunion planners.  I think the website is great! I am greatly enjoying reading about all my former classmates and seeing how they have changed.

After high school, I attended Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio, where I received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  After working only a few months as an engineer, I realized that I didn’t really like the practical application of engineering.  It was the theoretical math problems that I liked.  I gradually shifted to becoming a computer programmer.  I worked for 15+ years as a programmer and systems analyst.  I later earned my B.S. in Computer Science from Arcadia University. After leaving computers and raising my children, I tried several other occupations, but never found one that I liked.

In 1973, I married Leonard Greenfield, who gave me my three sons.  They have been the greatest joy of my life. I loved being a mother. In 2001, Len and I divorced, but I will always have my three sons, for which I am grateful. I also have 5 grandchildren and 2 more are expected this year.

Now I am happily married to Brad Wagner. Brad is a Vietnam veteran, former policeman, and retired Software Engineer and Systems Administrator. We enjoy our retirement together running foot races, traveling, reading, and enjoying our grandchildren.  Life is great!

Linda Wardle (Christensen)

Marital status: Married
Children: 5
Occupation: Realtor
Comment: Hard to believe it has been 50 years since we all graduated from Yorktown High School!  Only the name remains the same after 50 years – the new school facility is so different from the Yorktown we all remember.  The only part of the building that remains unchanged is the auditorium.

After graduating in 1968 I left for college in the west and graduated from Brigham Young University with a major in Fashion Merchandizing/Design.  I had a custom dressmaking business for many years.  I am married to John Bruce Wardle and have raised 5 children and 4 foster children here in Arlington.  All of our children and foster children graduated from Yorktown High School.  Our oldest daughter teaches 7th grade English at Williamsburg.  Three of our 13 grandchildren attend Arlington County Schools.  The oldest of the three is now a sophomore at Yorktown and plays both baseball and football and will graduate in 2018.  I have served for about 10 years with the Family and Consumer Science Curriculum Committee (formerly Home Ec. and Tech Ed). I have also been active serving as a Den Leader for the Cub Scouts during the years that my sons and grandsons were Cub Scout age.

My husband owns  Association Management Group a company that provides professional services for 18 Trade Associations here in the DC area.  I have been an active real estate agent since the early ‘90’s and currently have my license with Buck & Associates. I have enjoyed the opportunity to remain connected with Susie Cooper Buck over the years.  We remember fondly our French classes with Mr. Holt and chuckle that after all those French classes – we can barely decipher a French dinner menu!  We probably should have taken Spanish – it would have been much more practical!

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: retired USMC
Comment: I did in fact start my YHS senior year in September 1967, however, in October, it was suggested to me that "I would look better in GREEN than in in STRIPES" by a very insightful judge.  I joined the Marine Corps in Jan 1968 and was on my way to the war I had protested the summer before. I returned to Arlington in August 1969, hung out with Danny Babcock, Dywane Buhans and Chesley Barber.  I dated Gayle Palmes for a few weeks and asked her to marry me.  Two weeks later I got assigned to Marine Barracks Morocco.  Gayle wisely called it off.  I got married the first time to the mother of my now twp grown children; Angela now 46 and TJ now 41 both in Florida.  I did marry Gayle in 1982 and we lasted until 1988.  I stayed in the Corps for another 25 years married three more times.  Living in Kailua Kona Hawaii now.

Randall Weyandt

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: CIA retired
Comment: I am looking forward to attending the 50th class reunion.  Hope to see everyone there.  We are retired and living in McKinney, Texas - a suburb on the north side of Dallas.  My email is randall.weyandt@gmailo.com.  There are a lot of photos on my FB account.

I had one career as a personnel security specialist and have now retired (Spring 2010) from my second career with the CIA and moved to McKinney, Texas ( a suburb of Dallas).  While with the agency I had overseas tours In Thailand and Doha, Qatar.  Also had temporary duty travel to approximately 50 other countries.  Learned to speak Thai and Spanish fluently.  Really enjoyed the scuba diving in Thailand.  Right now I am settling into retirement and enjoying a ranch as a recreational property.   I am on Facebook as Randall A. Weyandt and there are a number of photos there.  My wife and I married in 1971 - still married.  We have two grown children that live near us.  My son works in internet security for a  large international bank.  My daughter has five degrees, her second M.S. and PhD. from the University of Chicago.  She is a research project director with Univ. of Texas Health Science Center a teaching hospital.  We have a miniature Schnauzer that is spoiled rotten and we wouldn't have it any other way.  I still see Terry Mulloy -Yorktown HS class of 1968 and we hunt together at the ranch.  Since college, my avocation has been Church History and the historical development of Christian doctrine.  Yeah, I know that is a couple steps away from my high school and early college lifestyle and interests.  I volunteer at Compass Hospice visiting older guys under hospice care.

My email is randalldotweyandtatgmaildotcom   I would love to hear from anyone that lives in the area or simply wants to catch up

Ray Weyandt

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Retired UPS
Comment: Graduated high school and went to Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.  Married Diane in 1971 and continued school graduating in 1973 with a BSEd in Art to become a art teacher.  I bounced around in three  very different one year jobs that I did not like.  In 1975 we moved to Dallas, Texas and I went to work for UPS.

UPS was a good match for me.  It was hard work but the great pay, good benefits, and 8 weeks off every year was really nice.  I started off in the brown delivery truck and

after 3 1/2 years moved up to driving the tractor trailers - pulling double trailers.  Arriving back home every day and having the weekends off helped with family life and time for hobbies.  I ended up driving 3.4 million tractor trailer miles in the 40 years that I worked.  I was honored to be inducted into the UPS Circle of Honor for 25 years with out an accident and ended up with 34 1/2 years without an accident when I retired in 2015.

When in college I was involved with the college theater group. I did a lot of "on stage", back stage, set design and set prop creation. This drama interest carried over for 30 years of amateur theater work after college.

In addition to UPS I had a partnership business with a friend  manufacturing model train parts and museum quality scale model train cars.  These were big ( G scale- 1/2 inch equals a foot) hand made railroad cars, a single car was about the size of a large loaf of bread . My company was feature in the magazine Model Railroad which gave our fledging company a big boost.

I have 2 grown daughters with 4 grandchildren that live nearby.

My other interests are woodworking, furniture repair, gardening, cooking, publishing a cookbook, traveling, & involved in local politics.  Due to my severe blindness from birth I was blessed to have lasik surgery and my eyesight has improved dramatically.

Since retirement I have become a professional Santa Claus!   Diane and I celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary this August.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in September!
