John Buckler, Keith Edwards, Dennis Smith, and I grew up together on the 2700 block of Dinwiddie St. (Dennis moved to California around the end of elementary school and returned to a different neighborhood to complete high school and graduated with our class).  John lived on the corner of Dinwiddie and Yorktown Blvd. about 2 or 3 blocks from YHS. John was into anything with a gas engine.  We spent many hours riding mini bikes and go carts back and forth on our street.  And we even took my go cart to the new 4 lane section of Glebe Rd. by Walker Chapel after it was complete, but before it was open to traffic!   John was the first person I knew (in our class) to get his drivers license and a car.  He often drove me to classes at Williamsburg Jr. High in the spring of 1965.  His parents owned Anderson and Buckler Garage on Lee Highway just up the road from Hot Shoppes. When I left Arlington for college and then work, I lost track of most everyone from high school over time.  The last time I remember talking to John was in 1988 at our 20th class reunion.  At that reunion he received an award for having the most children - 5 if I remember correctly. I don't know how Reunion Team members are tracking down deceased class members, but if their families have access to this tribute - Michael, or Butch, wife, kids, or anyone else who knew John, send me an email. I have lots of good memories of old times with John that I would be glad to share!  Miss you John! Gary Adkins
