Mary Louise Haggerty passed away suddenly on May 5, 2017. Mary was born on December 14, 1949, and was a lifelong resident of Arlington and Falls Church, VA. Mary graduated from Yorktown High School and earned a B.S. in Nursing from Marymount University. Mary was a trauma nurse at Georgetown University Hospital and Fairfax Inova Hospital. Mary was an All-American water polo player and member of the six-time AAU national champion Northern Virginia Aquatic Club team. Mary is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Jan Miller; her children, Ian (Nicole) Miller, Elizabeth (Scott) Boyle and Bridget (A. Bleys) Ingram; her sisters, Elaine (Thomas) Green and Eugenia Haggerty; and her six grand-children. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Helen Haggerty; her father, Thomas Eugene Haggerty; and brother Thomas Haggerty.
In lieu of flowers, we ask you do do some random acts of kindness in honor of Mary's life. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 1 at 11am at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Richmond.

So sorry to hear of her passing. She was always so kind. At our 20th reunion she had so many kind things to say to me. I was looking forward to seeing her again. I know that she made the lives of thousands of people better during her nursing career. May she rest in peace. Greg Neas
