BRETT CRAMER, of Oakton, VA passed away on February 28, 2013 surrounded by family as a result of a hard-fought battle with multiple myeloma. Loving husband to Judith Cramer; father to Alison and Brett; son to Geneva Brogan Shea; and brother to Ernie Cramer and the late Bruce Cramer. Born in Washington, DC and native of northern Virginia, Brett was stay-at-home father, real estate agent and special education teacher. He was also a strong advocate for education, and served as a court appointed special advocate for Fairfax County. A gathering to remember Brett and celebrate his life will be held at the family home on Saturday, March 9 from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Capital Caring Hospice, 2900 Telestar Ct., Falls Church, VA 22042.
Brett & I got to be friends at Yorktown as he enjoyed sitting on the bench watching me play soccer. We played alot of tennis and went to concerts and did some travelling together. I was with him when he met his wife at P.J.Skidoos in Fairfax. He loved to come to my house and have me crank up the stereo with good old rocking blues, like Stevie Ray Vaughan. We gave him the nickname of "the OZ" and it stuck with him, as it seemed to be somewhat descriptive of him! Rest In Peace, Brother OZ!
