WALLINGFORD - Lawrence Carl Azevedo, 64, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Hartford Hospital.
Larry was born May 20, 1950, in Newport, R.I., son of the late Carlos A. and Athene Coelho Azevedo. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1976, and spent the majority of his career helping leading businesses plan and implement IT strategies. He was an avid guitar player with a lifelong love of music and a proud associate member of the Songwriters' Guild.
Larry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Christine Negrey Azevedo; his daughters, Stephanie Harmon and partner, Joel Fountain, and Laura Azevedo and partner, Scott Chappell; his sisters, Mary Lou Carter and husband, Bill, and Jinjer Azuree and wife, Sue Kaspar; his brother, Don Fernando Azevedo and wife, Janice; and many much loved nieces, nephews; and other relatives both in the U.S. and Brazil.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, July 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford. A memorial service celebrating Larry's life will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
His family would like to thank the caregivers in the Hartford Hospital Heart Failure program who have taken such great care of Larry through his life and his death.
