Profile "1A" update -- big thanks x 65  to the 50th reunion organizing committee Nice Miss Suzie , Nice Miss Jill, Nice Miss Karen, and Nice Miss Beth and a special thanks to Suzie and good ole Joe-Buck for hosting a great affair last night in Arlington plan for the 50th.. some updates based on last night's affair. Only partially Class of 1968, left after junior year and went to Fort Hood Texas (I'm an army brat/father was West Point Class of 1945) for the fellow service brats in the class for senior year- Killeen High School '; "GO ROOS" . Useful Yorktown memory/experiences include having '66 Goat Convertible and being JV soccer team player/manager which ultimately led to being a training camp equipment manager with the Buffalo Bills and OJ Simpson after college. Also was peace corps volunteer on Palau Island - Micronesia (for all the scuba divers in the class)[and a "hello to other classmates who were also volunteers including Mark Palewitz(sp?) who was there last night and a now retired DOD/Pentagon person),, also was an Instructional Systems Designer in the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia . Have been a Department of Defense contractor dog contractor for the past 30+ years and now working in the Pentagon for the Submarine Undersea Warfare Division ..this being an interesting  connection with classmate Bruce Aukland who was a fast attack submarine skipper during our 20th reunion, aka "Hunt for Red October - Dallas"..  Will look forward  to the reunion and everyone will agree to share various middle-age ailments, pills, operations etc and get that out of the way so all can talk about grandkids. Have a great Navy '68 day. RLH3

CPA -- Tax and Estate Accounting Firm in Belleair Married 2
Jeff and I  have been married since 1969 and have two children -- Todd and Mindy.  We live in Belleair, a wonderful small town on the Gulf of Mexico and Clearwater Harbor in west, central Florida (the Tampa area).  We came to this area about 20 years ago from Manhattan and Connecticut.

We seem to have too many hobbies for the available time, but are quite passionate about boating, skiing, golf, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Jeff has been "retired" for about 20 years after a career primarily as one of several partners in a global portfolio management and private banking firm.  He graduated from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida in 1972 and from Columbia University in NYC in 1977.   I went to American University prior to our getting married, then worked as a secretary/bookkeeper in DeLand while Jeff was at Stetson University (in order to pay the rent), and then returned to university and received a degree in accounting from Montclair University.

I am a CPA amd after keeping the "family going"  in NY and Connecticut while Jeff worked I went back to work and now manage a tax and estate accounting practice in Belleair.

Wow, sorry, far too much.

We hope to read about everyone else.

Molly (Mary Irvine in the class of 1968) have been married since 1969.  Since she did a write-up of what we are up to; I will leave it at that.  We are looking forward to hearing from you.

We don't have many current pictures of ourselves, which is probably a good thing.

Computer technical support manager Www.qed.com Married 7
I have some great memories of Arlington and Yorktown but unfortunately have not stayed in touch with many of you.

I have enjoyed a wonderful life. I left Yorktown at attended Texas A&M Corps of Cadets for three semesters. I then entered the Navy and was married to Lynn Geisinger from Fairfax High School (met while working at Roy Rodgers in Fairfax). I was trained as an Air Traffic Controller and we were based in Brunswick Ga, Jacksonville Fl, Midway Island, and Norfolk Va. We were blessed with 4 children. In 1978 Lynn decided to leave us and I was introduced to single parenting for four years. I had to leave the Navy (they don't let you take children to sea with you!!) and went to work for the FAA as a controller. In 1981 President Reagan fired most of us, but that turned out to be the best for me, as I met my current wife Bonnie during the post-strike events. I was hired as a controller by the Australian Government and we moved to Melbourne for 11 years where we expanded our family to 7 children. Upon our return to the US I worked as a police officer for a couple of years and then landed my current job with QED. I still stare at the computer for 8 hours a day and Bonnie teaches Spanish to K - 5. We love our lives in New Hampshire. We travel to Australia every other year to visit our three children and 6 of our 11 grandchildren who remained there.

Who could have predicted all of those twists and turns in the past 50 years!

Retired Legislative Attorney; Yoga Teacher Married 2
I graduated from Georgetown and Georgetown law and went to work at the American Law Division of the Congressional Research Service.  It was a fascinating career helping Congress grapple with legal issues and I was fortunate to have a part in the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Individualsl with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and all its reauthorizations, as well as working on public health issues.  I married too young, had my first son and divorced.  I married my current husband in 1991 and we had a son in 1992 (Do I win a prize for the youngest child for a woman in the class of '68?)  I retired in 2011 but soon began teaching yoga and now teach about 5 classes a week.  Namaste! Nancy Keller (Jencks)
Retired Divorced 1
The past 50 years have been full of ups and downs, but mostly ups. I graduated from the University of Illinois in 1972, then moved to Boulder Colorado. Married in 1977, had a son in 1978, divorced in 1990. I've lived in Phoenix (a couple stints), but was pining away for Colorado, so moved back to Boulder in 2000.  My son moved back at the same time, so I get to spend time with him (and his wife) often. They're expecting my first grandchild in November, so be prepared for the parade of pictures.

I retired from the phone company (do we call it that anymore?) in 2013 after 32 years and am now happily puttering around doing whatever the heck I feel like doing.

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone, and I add my thanks to the committee members. I've always wondered what happened to Elihu Fribble, and now I know. RIP, Elihu.

Retired Married 2
Hello!!  To start with, I wouldn't miss the 50th reunion for anything.

I'm happily living in Jupiter, Florida.  It's a place that I have been coming to for more than 30 years.  I love the weather, the beach and the million restaurants here.

I spent most of my career with the U.S. Geological Survey in Reston, VA and retired from there in 2010.  It was very enjoyable and I learned many things.  I became a specialist in geographic information systems (GIS), computer systems and cartography.  After the 9-11 tragedy, I spent 8-1/2 years at a secure location providing maps and imagery for continuity of government operations.

My personal life began when I married Vicki in 1974.  We had two children, Amy and Lisa.
Sadly Vicki passed away in 2000.  I was single for 10 years and married Jackie.  I have five grandsons and Jackie has three grandsons.  My daughter Lisa is giving us grandson no. 8 in April!  We have the basketball team covered.  Now working on the football team.

In the past, just by happenstance I have met Yorktown classmates in some of the most unusual places like Key West and Lake Monticello, VA .  I always remember those encounters.  I'm looking forward to getting re-acquainted with many of you.  See you there in 2018!

FCC Senior Electronics Engineer - Retired Single
I got my BSEE from West Virginia University in 78. Yes, it took a while. For the past 17 years I was an FCC Senior Electronics Engineer working on regulatory compliance for Wi-Fi, cellular, and consumer products with transmitters at the FCC Lab in Columbia, MD. It was a great job but time passes on and I am retired now.

I live in Hanover, MD and am walking distance from the Maryland Live Casino. Who would have known when I bought this house?  I never married and am very happy with friends and family these days. One of my favorite pastimes is to see music shows at the Rams Head in Annapolis, MD. Baby Boomers love to be entertained.

Teacher Married 4
After graduating from the University of Richmond I migrated south and started a business in Miami, FL..  25 years later, life and family necessitated a change. I became a teacher and special education administrator. I'm now living in Lakeland, FL., teaching a small class of middle school students with intellectual disabilities (my "now" picture was taken for the 2017 yearbook.... and NO the broken arm is not part of Mr. Lenox's classroom management procedures). I married Pam in 2007 and between us we have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Kudos to the reunion committee, your hard work shows! Send Michael a MessageSend Michael a Message

Retired Social Worker Divorced 2
Without a speck of foresight that my degree would be absolutely useless, I received a BA in French in 1972. Two months later, I was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army. I met my husband at Ft. Bragg, NC and we were married in July 1973. We got a joint assignment to Germany less than a year later and stayed for 3 years. I picked up German quickly and my knowledge of French was only helpful when we traveled to France and Belgium! We had a second overseas assignment in Engand, from 1987-1990. My husband retired from the Army in 1993, after his final assignment at the Pentagon. I had a daughter in 1976 and a son in 1977. My daughter, son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren live in Fairfax, VA. Since 2002, my son has lived in NYC. He met his wife up there. They love NYC and are expecting a baby in early September 2018. Once the kids were in elementary school, I got a BS in Psychology and an MSW (Master of Social Work). I had a 30 year career in Social Work. Loved being a Therapist, but changed gears in 2002 and was a Utilization Review Analyst until I retired. In Jan 1999, my husband and I separated/divorced. I moved to Atlanta and spent 3 years enjoying my 2nd Adolescence. Two months after 9/11, I moved back to this area to be close to family. I retired in 2015 and life is great! Thanks to all you reunion planners.  I think the website is great! I am greatly enjoying reading about all my former classmates and seeing how they have changed.

After high school, I attended Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio, where I received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  After working only a few months as an engineer, I realized that I didn’t really like the practical application of engineering.  It was the theoretical math problems that I liked.  I gradually shifted to becoming a computer programmer.  I worked for 15+ years as a programmer and systems analyst.  I later earned my B.S. in Computer Science from Arcadia University. After leaving computers and raising my children, I tried several other occupations, but never found one that I liked.

In 1973, I married Leonard Greenfield, who gave me my three sons.  They have been the greatest joy of my life. I loved being a mother. In 2001, Len and I divorced, but I will always have my three sons, for which I am grateful. I also have 5 grandchildren and 2 more are expected this year.

Now I am happily married to Brad Wagner. Brad is a Vietnam veteran, former policeman, and retired Software Engineer and Systems Administrator. We enjoy our retirement together running foot races, traveling, reading, and enjoying our grandchildren.  Life is great!
